The couple arrived in Los Angeles from Calgary on July 8. They were greeted by the governor, Jerry Brown, and his wife, Anne Gust, who presented the duchess with a red, white, and blue bouquet.

The couple then attended Variety's Venture Capital and New Media Summit at the Beverly Hilton.

Catherine's dress was a pale Roskanda Ilincic, called "Peridot Crepe". She paired the outfit with blush Jimmy Choo "Lovelys" and her "Natalie" LK Bennet straw clutch. The dress features a draped neckline, flowy skirt, and cinched waist.
