Catherine took part in an 80's themed roller disco at the Renaissance Rooms in Vauxhall, South London. She was one of the party's organizers along with Holly Branson. The event benefitted Tom's Ward at the Children's Hospital in Oxford. Tom's Ward is named with Catherine's friend, Thomas Whaley-Cohen, who died at the age of 20 from bone cancer in 2004. The event also supported the charity, Place2Be, which provided counseling to children. The event aimed to raise £100,000 for the two charities.

Catherine took the 80's theme seriously and dress in a sequined, green, halter top, yello hot pants, and pink leg warmers. Upon arriving and departing, she changed to black suede, knee-high boots. She carried a Mulberry "Araline" purse in claret red.

Catherine attended the wedding of the Queen's cousin, Lady Rose Windsor to George Gilman at the Queen's chapel, St. James' Palace in London. Prince William was unable to attend as he was serving aboard the Iron Duke frigate in the Carribbean. It was her second royal wedding she attended that year, after the wedding of Peter and Autumn Philips in May.

Catherine wore a light blue, peacock feathered dress, topped with a light blue blazer. She wore black heels, and a black feathered fascinator, and carried and black crocodile clasp clutch.

Catherine stepped out for some shopping with her sister, Pippa. Catherine wore a brown and white, floral print dress, topped with a black cardigan. She wore brown and black patent, slingback, peep-toe, espadrilles and carried a white Prada bag. The dress was previously seen on Catherine in August 2007, after her return from the Seychelles in 2007.

At this point, there are many concerns that Catherine is not working, but rather spending her days "keeping herself looking good." She is seen out shopping, playing tennis, and attending social functions during this period. She stated that the worked full time for the family's mail-order party supply company, in Berkshire, UK.

Catherine and a friend attended Wimbledon in kate June, 2008. William had recently been stations on the frigate, Iron Duke in the Carribbean, and was therefore, absent.

Catherine wore a white Issa "Lucky" dress, topped with a black cardigan. It was later revealed in 2011, the Catherine had unexpectedly been given the good seats, and had written a thank-you letter to the staff, see below.

William was absent, being stationed on the frigate, HMS Iron Duke in the Carribbean. Catherine was seen later in the night, clubbing with Holly Branson

Catherine attended her first royal event as a guest at the 2008 Order of the Garter ceremony, in which William was inducted as the 1000th Knight of the Garter. She was escorted by Prince Harry and enjoyed the company of others within the Royal Family.
Catherine wore a black suit with small white polka dots, previously seen on a trip to Dublin in 2007. She wore black heels, and a black saucer Philip Treacy hat with black and white feathering. She carried a black clutch.

The Ball benefitted the Starlight Children's Foundation and included a boxing match featuring William's friend from Eton, James Meade. Also in attendance were Prince Harry and his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.

Catherine chose an Issa pink halter dress which gathered at the naval. She accessorized with black heels and carried a black clutch with a glittery clasp.

Catherine attended the wedding of Peter Philips to Autumn Kelly at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. Catherine was the representative of Prince William, who was attending the wedding of a friend in Kenya.

Catherine wore an Issa "Lucky" dress in black with a sheer neck. You can see, in the photo of Catherine dancing with Chelsy Davy, that the dress is also sheer on the back and under the arms. She topped the dress with a pink double breasted blazer. She wore satin pink heels and a black pillbox hat, with bow to the back and light veiling. She carried a Prada pink box clutch.
